Anywho, let me start of by exclaiming "Holy Bald Headed Jesus Palamina"!! So the CEO of Chick-Fil-A is asked a question by the Baptist Press and his answer:
"We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit," Cathy continued. "We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that."From the Baltimore Sun "That was it. Mr. Cathy did not say he would deny someone with a different view than his the right to eat in or work at any of his fast-food restaurants, which would violate the law. He did not say anything hateful about them. He simply expressed a deeply held conviction rooted in his Christian faith." Full story.
A few mayors (Chicago, Baltimore) have stated that they are against Mr. Cathy and will deny his company permits to build any new stores, umm that's discrimination and illegal. There is a nice little piece on this over a CNN of all places 1st amendment rights.
See we all have the right to voice or opinions and exercise our right to freedom of speech. Just like the people that are boycotting Chick-fil-A are exercising THEIR rights.
IMNSHO people are getting all worked up over the wrong issue here. Its not about Gay Marriage, or Gay Rights. It's about your, mine, and our RIGHTS, mainly the right to free speech! When politician's come out and state they are going to actively use their position to punish a person or even a corporation for expressing their views then we have a very severe problem here.
Personally I think both sides are acting like complete buffoons. I don't care who you marry, or what for that matter. I don't care what your sexual orientation is, or what your religious belief is either. Free will FTW baby!!
What I do care about are people, politicians, political groups or groups in general stating that another person doesn't have the RIGHT to express their views or opinions. See our rights that are afforded to us under the Constitution of the United States of America apply to EVERYONE! Don't like what I have to say? COOL, wanna comment? (see the comment button below? click it!). Agree or disagree or even agree to disagree, everyone has a right to voice their opinions.
Alot of people are blowing the wrong issue out of proportion here if ya ask me. There are alot more important issue's facing this country and the entire world than this non-issue of gay rights since it's not about gay rights but about freedom of speech. There are things that if people put as much energy into that they have in throwing a fit over what some guy said then maybe just maybe some things might actually get better. Things like: the economy, world peace, world hunger, nuclear proliferation, scientific breakthrough's to help all humanity, fee energy, invading aliens, and of-course THE DUTCH (to name but a few).
But no, we gotta spend time, energy and money protesting the fact that someone voiced their views and some people not only didn't like it, they don't want anyone to ever voice their opinion either unless it's the same as theirs AN politically correct as well...yes, it's their right to protest, to disagree and to even boycott but, some always want to go that extra distance claim free speech is a right for me but, not for thee.
